SUMMARY:Visit - 6\, Canon Price Road & Cedar House\, Wasperton
DESCRIPTION:6 Canon Price Road\, Barford CV35 8EQ & Cedar House\, Wasperton CV35 8EB \nWe have arranged a joint visit to two smaller but interesting gardens as part of the National Gardens Scheme which are located a few minutes from each other.  The first of these\, Canon Price Road is an unexpectedly large and mature gardens\, formerly part of a much larger nursery with colour themed shrub and perennial plants. The garden features separate areas for herbs\, vegetables and some 19 varieties of fruit\, some fan trained. In addition there are colourful patio plots\, a rockery\, pond and wildlife garden. Plant sales are available (cash only) and the visit will conclude with tea\, coffee and cake in either the garden room or seating around the garden. There is wheelchair access via a single slab path that leads to a wide path through the garden. \nWe plan to leave Canon Price Road by 4.15pm to travel on to Cedar House\, Wasperton. A short 5 minute drive away. Cedar House is a six acre former vicarage garden which has been the subject of extensive investment by the owner. There are extensive herbaceous borders on the front drive and around the house\, a water meadow garden first created in 2023\, a woodland glade that features interesting and rare trees around a fallen beech and stumpery.  The Cedar lawn features a number of sculptures\, including one by David Harber. There are some gravel and woodchip paths. We will be welcomed by David Burbidge\, the owner\, who has kindly offered to provide a glass of wine. \nCost including afternoon tea and a glass of wine will be £25.00 to members/£30.00 to non-members. \nDirections: Canon Price Road is approximately 1 mile from Warwick on the A429. Take the turn off in to Barford. Park on Wellesbourne Road and walk into Nursery Meadow by a red phone box. No 6 is on the right in the 1st close. Disabled parking by the house. Directions to Cedar House will be given out at Canon Price Road. \nBook here!
