DESCRIPTION:Change of date!\nAward-winning horticultural consultant Sue Minter will discuss the contribution plants have\nmade to human health via the development of pharmaceutical drugs as well as herbal\nremedies. The lecture will be based on the development of the Pharmaceutical Garden at\nthe Chelsea Physic Garden in the 1990s\, where she was curator\, as well as the\nethnobotanical Garden of World Medicine.  It has been the scene of some of the most\nimportant developments in the history of horticulture\, medicine and twentieth-\ncentury agriculture.\nSue Minter is the author of The Healing Garden\, The Well-Connected Gardener\, The\nApothecaries Garden and The Greatest Glasshouse. She was a founding member of the\nBotanic Gardens Education Network and PlantNetwork\, chair of the Herb Society and\npresident of the Chartered Institute of Horticulture. Her work in botanic gardens has seen\nher as supervisor of the Palm House at Kew in the 1980s\, curator of the Chelsea Physic\nGarden in the 1990s and then on to be the horticultural director of the Eden Project. \nNon-members book here!
